Industry partners are a critical stakeholder group, and their involvement is essential for Assuris to fulfill its mission of protecting Canadian life and health insurance policyholders. Our goal is to build and develop mutually beneficial relationships and leverage opportunities to work together, including joint initiatives. Maintaining open lines of communication with these partners fosters trust and strengthens these relationships over time, and regular information exchange and collaboration facilitate a deeper understanding of the broader landscape. By maintaining effective communication, we also ensure that our partners are willing to work effectively in a crisis and collaborate on risk mitigation strategies.
Canadian financial services consumers can feel secure in knowing that Canada has a strong well-regulated financial services sector, and that in the unlikely event that a Canadian financial institution fails, consumers are protected by a variety of compensation plans. The collective strength of the protections offered to Canadian financial services consumers provides all Canadians with added confidence and peace of mind when planning a future for themselves and their loved ones.
The International Forum of Insurance Guarantee Schemes (IFIGS) was formed in May 2013 by a group of insurance guarantee schemes from around the world interested in sharing their experiences in providing policyholder protection in the event of an insurance company failure.
The IFIGS facilitates and promotes international cooperation between insurance guarantee schemes, and other stakeholder organizations with an interest in policyholder protection.
