Group segregated funds are investment funds that accumulate value by investing in securities such as stocks and bonds. Group plan sponsors and plan participants may invest in group segregated funds. Plan sponsors can be your employer, union or other association.

If your life insurance company fails, the value of the segregated fund is not impacted. Assuris will seek to transfer the fund and the guarantee, if applicable, to a solvent company.

Group segregated fund policies generally do not provide a guaranteed amount on death or maturity. When they do provide guarantees, they are protected in the same manner as the guarantee on individual segregated funds. Click here to see examples.

If your group segregated fund has a guarantee, it will be protected separately from individual segregated fund guarantees.
