A group segregated fund is an investment fund that accumulates value by investing in securities such as stocks and bonds. Group plan sponsors and plan participants may invest in group segregated funds. Plan sponsors may be an employer, union or other association.
If your life and health insurance company fails, the value of the segregated fund is not impacted.
If your group segregated fund policy does provide a guarantee, it is protected in the same manner as the guarantee on individual segregated funds.
